Children's Action Network
One of the most powerful tools DEC members have is the ability to use our collective
voice to advocate for young children with disabilities and their families.
The Children’s Action Network (CAN) is a communication network that works
toward positive governmental changes at the local, state, and federal levels. The CAN
network is a grassroots advocacy network that engages DEC members in policy and
advocacy efforts through each DEC state Subdivision. The purpose of CAN is to
motivate our members, colleagues, and communities to take action on issues
important to the field.
Our voice matters. From the grassroots- this means starting with YOU- we can and will continue to improve the outcomes, services, and policies that affect young children with exceptionalities and their families.
If you are interested in becoming more involved in DEC’s CAN, contact your DEC Subdivision to find out the name of the CAN Coordinator in your state or province.
